Spring Break Mission Trips

U.S. disaster relief

Serve alongside a local church in a community recovering from a natural disaster. In partnership with Praying Pelican Missions, you’ll support the church as it responds to the most pressing needs in the area.

Specific projects will depend on conditions at the time of the trip and may shift as recovery efforts continue. This unified team includes students in the College of Arts and Sciences and first-year students in the BUILD program.

South Texas

Learn from immigrant leaders and serve alongside local ministries along the U.S.-Mexico border. Through service at shelters and churches, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of immigration, border dynamics, and the experiences of immigrant communities.

You’ll also reflect on how faith shapes the way you listen, learn, and serve in a cross-cultural context.

San Lazaro, Belize

Serve alongside Pastora Eriselda Moguel and San Lazaro Pentecostal Church of God SILOE as they meet practical needs and share the hope of the gospel in northern Belize.

You’ll support ongoing ministry by distributing food and essential supplies, offering prayer and encouragement, and building relationships with individuals and families in the community. You may also help with youth activities, including VBS and a youth night.

Throughout the week, you’ll learn from local church leaders and see how practical service, relationships, and spiritual care work together in long-term ministry.

Corozal, Belize

Serve alongside a local church and healthcare professionals in Corozal, Belize, as you apply your developing nursing knowledge and skills in a cross-cultural setting.

Designed in partnership with Bethel’s Nursing Department, this experience connects your academic preparation with hands-on service. You’ll support clinical care, spend time with patients and families, and offer conversation, encouragement, and prayer.

Throughout the trip, you’ll learn from local partners while exploring how your faith, compassion, and vocational gifts can shape the way you serve others.

Croc, Mexico

Serve alongside Youthfront, which has partnered with the community of Croc near Monterrey, Mexico, for more than 20 years. Through its year-round ministry and afterschool program, Youthfront supports children and families while helping students explore what it means to live faithfully in God’s world.

You’ll take part in community-based service, spend time with local families and children, and learn more about the realities of poverty and systemic injustice. Through these experiences, you’ll reflect on what it means to be a good neighbor and serve with humility, faith, and care.

Throughout the week, you’ll learn from local partners, build relationships, and consider how God is calling you to respond to the needs of others.

Guatemala

Serve alongside Breaking Cycles, a locally led nonprofit ministry in Sumpango, Guatemala, that supports individuals and families through Christ-centered community development.

Throughout the week, you’ll work with local leaders on projects such as home construction, service at the training center and orphanage, and home visits focused on encouragement and relationship-building. You’ll also learn from the Breaking Cycles team and experience Guatemalan culture through the communities you serve alongside.

The trip concludes with time in Antigua for reflection, debriefing, and cultural learning.

Dominican Republic

Explore how God may be calling you to serve through a cross-cultural ministry experience in Santiago, Dominican Republic. You’ll serve alongside Students International and learn from Dominican and North American ministry leaders as they live out their callings in a variety of settings.

Ministry opportunities may include education, healthcare, social work, sports ministry, media and communications, and appropriate technology such as water filtration systems. Throughout the week, you’ll build relationships, learn from local partners, and reflect on how your faith, gifts, and vocation can shape the way you serve.

This unified team includes students in the College of Arts and Sciences and second-year students in the BUILD program.

Poland

Serve alongside a local church in Szczecin, Poland, with a focus on building relationships and connecting with college students and other young adults.

You’ll support church events, community outreach, and other ministry efforts based on the needs of the local church at the time of the trip. Throughout the week, you’ll learn from local leaders, share your faith, and build relationships that support the church’s ongoing ministry in Szczecin.

Jamaica—disaster response

Hurricane Melissa caused widespread damage across Jamaica, including communities near Montego Bay that are continuing to rebuild. Serve alongside a local church in the area as it responds to ongoing needs and supports families through the recovery process.

In partnership with Praying Pelican Missions, you’ll take part in practical projects based on the most pressing needs at the time of the trip. Work may include debris cleanup, home repairs, roof work, and other rebuilding efforts.

You’ll also spend time with community members and local ministry leaders, offering encouragement, building relationships, and learning how churches continue serving their communities long after a disaster.
