Midday in Monson Dining Center

On weekdays Monson Dining Center serves lunch for three hours, featuring seven buffet and made-to-order stations. When this extended lunch ends, many of our stations close for the afternoon. However, on weekdays the Monson Dining Center remains open for a midday meal; this means that students with tight afternoon schedules can still have lunch in the Dining Center. The Grainery, Deli, Salads and Indulgence (dessert) areas stay open for this meal each day.

Since midday takes place during a part of the afternoon which is not traditionally a mealtime, the Dining Center is much calmer than at lunch or dinner. Some students choose to eat during midday for its relaxed atmosphere—they don't have to wait in lines, and the seating area is quieter for those who want to study or have a conversation with friends.

Dietary Concerns

Monson Dining Center offers made-to-order food selections that can accommodate many unique dietary needs. Every line has gluten-free and vegetarian options available by request.

If you need help understanding how the Monson Dining Center can meet your dietary needs, talk to our chefs. For those with more sensitive special dietary needs including food allergies, individualized plans can be set up by contacting the Office of Accessibility Resources and Services (OARS).
