Manager of UA Planned Giving and Scholarship Operations

I’ve been in three different positions at Bethel over the last 10 years. I spent almost six years in church relations, two in academic affairs, and am now in advancement. God’s leading through those changes was clear and resulted in a broader view of the mission and ministry of Bethel. I have thoroughly enjoyed each of the positions and the people I’ve worked with. The advancement team is a cohesive, focused, and gifted group who are a privilege to work with and learn from. I appreciate the time we spend together in prayer and devotions. It keeps our focus where it belongs—on Christ.

My favorite part of my job is...
The best parts of my job are very different! Relator is my top strength, so interacting with others and helping them find answers or resources is a favorite. I’m also a problem solver, so finding a better way to execute a process also ranks at the top. My top spiritual gifts are service and administration, so that makes sense. God instills gifting and desires in us that help us fulfill His work in the Kingdom.

Outside of work...
My husband, Mark, and I have three grown children, all of whom have attended Bethel. It’s been very special for me to work on campus while they were here, especially hearing “Mom!” across Kresge Courtyard! Our family loves to travel. With a son that’s a pilot, it’s a lot easier these days! We also love to play games, so game night is a given when we have friends and family visiting. I love to read and with Learner as one of my top strengths, nonfiction is more prominent in my booklist. Another passion of mine is alternative approaches to health, so I love to spend time learning and sharing that part of our lives as well.
