Cultural Intelligence

Attend a CQ session at Bethel.

At Bethel, we strive to equip everyone to engage across differences with wisdom and grace in today’s complex cross-cultural world.

That’s why we’ve implemented Cultural Intelligence, or CQ, training across the university. Cultural Intelligence, or CQ, is a globally recognized way of assessing and improving effectiveness in culturally diverse situations. Certified trainers equip employees—and ultimately our students—to lead, relate, and serve well across cultures. Embedding CQ throughout Bethel’s community will help us all flourish in our roles and relationships at Bethel and beyond.

Why CQ?

CQ is aimed at helping people identify their strengths and areas for improvement—all to help each person find opportunities to function more effectively in multicultural and diverse settings.

Attend a CQ session

Attend a CQ session to explore your cultural strengths, identify growth opportunities, and gain tools to navigate diverse settings with confidence.
Though we could have picked an easier topic of conversation, we decided to address something difficult and came away with a much better understanding of each team member's needs and how to begin making changes.

It was fascinating to me to see the areas that our department were all extremely similar. It provided definition and context as to why we react a certain way in various situations.

The workshop reminded us that it's very normal for individuals to be different and that the difference and uniqueness we each bring to our team only adds to the richness and broader vision in our day-to-day operations.
