Talks Series

These videos were produced at Bethel Seminary San Diego as part of the Work with Purpose Talks event. They feature short, impactful presentations from faculty members on biblical and theological perspectives on work.

Foundational Video 

This video was produced by Jeannine Brown through a Work with Purpose Faculty Idea Grant. It explores the biblical storyline for the question of how "ordinary" work fits into God's purposes. 

Thought Leaders

These videos capture the content from keynote presentations at Bethel Seminary community gatherings, pastors and ministry leaders seminars, conferences, and more. 

Faith-Work Practitioners

These leaders spoke at Bethel Seminary about their engagement with faith and work integration in their own organizations. 

Women in the Workforce

Work with Purpose, in partnership with Thrivent Financial, hosted two gatherings for women employed in the marketplace or vocational ministry. The panelists were female leaders representing a variety of industries, and they spoke on their unique experiences of being a woman in the workforce.

Pastors Gatherings

These recordings feature local and regional pastors and ministry leaders sharing their expertise and experience of exploring faith and work themes with their congregations or in their ministry contexts.

Sermon Competition

Bethel Seminary's Work with Purpose hosted two friendly competitions among pastors who submitted sermons on faith-work integration and whole-life discipleship. Watch the winning sermon from Erik Dunkin, former College Pastor at Prairie Lakes Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Work with Purpose team members Justin Irving and Tessa Pinkstaff, along with Bethel alumnus Jon Bonkoski, spoke with host Jim Brangenberg about how the Initiative is shaping Bethel curriculum as well as the broader community.

Made to Flourish

This network for pastors, another key Work with Purpose partner, has an extensive library that includes sermon recordings, articles, thought leader videos, interviews, and more.

The national Made to Flourish Common Good Conference (cg2017) included three presentations at the Twin Cities host site featuring local ministry leaders.

Oikonomia Network

Work with Purpose is a partner school in the Oikonomia Network learning community. The ON has produced a series of TED-style talks on a range of topics by leading Christian scholars.

Mill City Church

This Northeast Minneapolis neighborhood church has fully embraced the integration of faith and work. Their tools include a vocational assessment exercise, a video featuring Amy Sherman, an article about joining God at work, and the text of a sermon on God in the workplace. 

New Hope Community Church

This Converge denomination church in Cambridge, Minnesota is led by Pastor Bill Berg. His team produced this inspiring video featuring several congregants talking about their view of work in light of the church's focus on its value. 

Refuge - An Evangelical Free Church

Assistant Pastor Craig Spofford is passionate about whole-life discipleship. He recorded the following interviews with members of his Zimmerman, Minnesota church about their experiences of faith at work.

Wooddale Church

Pastor Emeritus Leith Anderson recorded this series of four sermons on "why we work" when he was serving as Senior Pastor at Wooddale Church in Edina, Minnesota.
