Get to know student leaders and campus pastors as you learn about student ministry opportunities. Also learn about the faith formation process and how you can support your student's spiritual growth.

Find out about the opportunities your student has to study abroad while they're at Bethel.

4:45-7:15 p.m. Lakeside Picnic and Kickoff Celebration 

Lakeside Picnic: Enjoy a complimentary outdoor picnic! Family members eat free, and new students are covered under their meal plan. Come anytime during your designated picnic window (see below). Start by getting a plate outside the CLC south doors, then visit the food stations in any order. Relax on the lawn or bring your food indoors.

Kickoff Celebration: Consider this your official welcome to Bethel! Join us for a big welcome from the Welcome Week staff, President Barnes, student leaders, and more. This is a great way to begin your time at Bethel! Arrive 15 minutes early to get a good seat.

To give you the best possible welcome experience, we've divided the incoming class into two groups for the picnic and kickoff:

Blue Group: Students living in Nelson, Edgren, and Lissner
4:45-6 p.m. | Picnic | West Lawn
6:15-7:15 p.m. | Kickoff | Benson Great Hall  - CLC Level 1

Gold Group: Commuters and students living in Arden Village, Bodien, Getsch, Heritage, North Waters, and North Woods
4:45-5:45 p.m. | Kickoff | Benson Great Hall - CLC Level 1
6-7:15 p.m. | Picnic | West Lawn
7:30 p.m. Dessert Reception with the President: While your student meets with his or her residence hallmates or fellow commuters, President Jay Barnes and his wife Barb invite you to an informal dessert reception. Relax after a busy day of moving and unpacking, connect with other parents and families, and enjoy delicious desserts!

10:45 a.m.-12 p.m. Commissioning Service: Led by the Campus Ministries team, this is a highlight for families and students. Be a part of this wonderful tradition that provides a meaningful sendoff and gives students and their families an opportunity to commit the year to the Lord.

12-1:30 p.m. Lunch and Family Goodbye: This concludes the family track of Welcome Week. We invite you to say goodbye to your son or daughter during lunch.
