Bethel's human services programs have been developed to offer you the best learning experience in order to provide the highest quality care. Begin a program with us or complete your degree through one of our convenient delivery options, including face-to-face or online—all around your schedule.

Bachelor's Degrees

Human Services (B.A.)

With a human services degree, you’ll gain the knowledge and skills to apply your compassion for others to a career in the helping professions, such as career and disability services, corrections, and mental health. It will also prepare you for master’s degrees in areas like gerontology and counseling psychology.

Master's Degrees

Counseling Psychology (M.A.)

The M.A. in Counseling Psychology provides the skills to work as a professional therapist or counselor; to use counseling skills in related fields; or to prepare for doctoral study. Students gain a foundation in counseling theory, research, and practice in either a 2- or 3-year schedule, and have the opportunity to specialize through a concentration.

Gerontology (M.A.)

The Master of Arts in Gerontology at Bethel equips professionals to become well-trained gerontologists who provide the services and leadership to respond to the needs of and to bring hope and fulfillment to our society’s older adults.


Addiction Studies Certificate

Our Addiction Studies Certificate will help you get started in a social services career. You’ll learn how to apply research and evidence-based practices to your counseling practice as you assist individuals dealing with addiction.

Alcohol and Drug Counseling Certificate

Our certificate program will boost your counseling skills and prepare you for licensure in Minnesota as an alcohol and drug counselor

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Certificate

With this certificate you’ll learn how to promote improved mental health as you develop expertise in several techniques that will enable you to address the unique needs of children and adolescents.

Gerontology Certificate

Earning a Gerontology Certificate at Bethel will help you take the lead in providing innovative services and resources across industries that will meet the needs of aging adults.
