Before You Apply - Use our Net Price Calculator to get an estimate of your financial aid eligibility and learn more about what to do before you apply for aid.

Apply for Aid - Complete your 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The 2024-2025 FAFSA will be available in December 2023. Be sure to include Bethel University (school code #002338) on the list of schools to receive your FAFSA information.

Processing your Financial Aid Offer - two-step notification -

Here at Bethel University we strive to gather the most accurate projection of what your overall financial aid offer will be from all resources. Notification of financial aid offers will be a two-step process. Eligibility for the Royal Merits Scholarship will begin October 16, 2023, and will be sent by our Admissions Office after students are admitted. Eligibility for a complete financial aid offer will begin in mid-April 2024 and will be sent by the Financial Aid Office (provided students are admitted and have submitted all required materials).

You can also view your financial aid online through MyBethel [Checklist tab>Financial Aid Award Offer button>select the appropriate academic year from the dropdown list].

*Please note that for the 2024-2025 school year:

  • If you are a new student, we will begin preparing financial aid packages and sending offer letters in mid-April 2024.
  • For returning students, we begin preparing financial aid offers in May 2024.

Students are reviewed for the Royal Merits scholarship based on information provided on the admissions application. The Royal Merits Scholarship factors in high school information, family legacy at Bethel and pastoral or missionary service to achieve our goal to develop student leaders, scholars and servants.

After You're Offered Financial Aid -

Once you receive your financial aid offer, visit After You're Offered Financial Aid. You'll find helpful information to enable you to complete the financial aid process.

Special Circumstances?

Sometimes situations limit what you can handle financially. We call these special circumstances, which could include unusually high medical expenses or a job loss. These special circumstances aren't factored in when you apply for aid, so there is an appeal process to have your need-based aid reviewed.
