Experience the world of medical missions. Get valuable cross-cultural medical experience under the leadership and guidance of local practitioners.
Date
March 13-21, 2020 (could vary slightly).
Location
Bethel students will travel to Central America to serve communities in the Corozal villages in northern Belize (Para Eso, Xibe, San Narciso, and Ranchito).
The Experience
Our team will work alongside Dr. Rodas (a local doctor and pastor) and his church members to set up health clinics. This beautiful experience gives our health sciences students a chance to experience medical missions firsthand.
The most unique aspect of the trip is the close relationship between practical medical relief and the ministry of a local church body. Bi-vocational pastors such as Dr. Rodas are rare. Witnessing this blend of skills provides a transformational experience for Bethel students.
In addition to medical missions, we also present creative programs such as kids ministry and hygiene education.
Our Ministry Partner
Praying Pelican Missions is a leader in short-term missions to Belize and specializes in a number of areas, including medical missions.

Who Should Participate
This trip is reserved for students in the health sciences (pre-med, nursing, and other health sciences) who have junior or senior standing.
Cross-cultural ministry experience and proficiency in Spanish are helpful and valued in the team selection process. Since we don't spend all of our time working in medical missions, we look for students with an ability to be energetic, spontaneous, and adaptable.
Next Steps
Applications are open through November 1. Interviews are conducted in October and November of every year for the following spring.
