Amount

$2,000 per school year—or $8,000 over four years. When paired with the Bethel Promise Grant, the two awards may cover most of your tuition cost.

The Jeremiah 29 Scholarship Program at Bethel University is designed to inspire and equip students from a variety of backgrounds to lead with integrity, excel academically, and serve their communities. The program reflects Bethel’s commitment to fostering a Christ-guided community that values inclusive excellence. The J29 Scholarship prioritizes students with financial need and expands access for those who may face additional barriers in pursuing higher education​​.

Renewal

The Jeremiah 29 Scholarship is available for a total of four years if scholars meet program requirements:

  • Maintaining satisfactory academic progress (SAP) as defined by Bethel University.
  • Actively participate in the J29 cohort initiatives.
  • Demonstrating ongoing commitment to leadership, service, and academic excellence.

Eligibility

To qualify for the J29 Scholarship, you must:

  • Enroll as a first-time, degree-seeking undergraduate student
  • Must be a Minnesota resident
  • Demonstrate financial need via the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or qualify for the Bethel Promise Grant
    • Please note that eligibility is generally capped at a family adjusted gross income of $80,000
  • Have a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Exhibit a heart for leadership, service, or academic promise
  • Priority will be given to students who will be living on campus

Application process

Submit the Jeremiah 29 scholarship application by the deadline of February 1, 2027.
