Major/Minor Image

Bethel’s B.A. in Music program gives you the flexibility to pursue your passion in music in addition to other fields of study. Many of our students double major in such areas as psychology, business, and biblical studies. This degree will prepare you for success in a variety of careers.

Why should I study music?

When you major in music, you’ll gain a unique set of skills that will prepare you to enter a wide range of careers. As a musician, you’ll learn how to collaborate and contribute with excellence as a member of a team. In our program you’ll present under pressure, a valuable skill to have in many fields, and hone your ability to quickly process information using multiple senses. In addition, you’ll grow as a musical leader who can perform, conduct, and critically judge music.

You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in the R.E.A.L. Experience—a program specifically designed to help you gain the relevant, hands-on experience employers desire—so that when you graduate, you’ll be as impressive in practice as you are on paper.
