Advising Study Abroad Students

Advising

Study abroad students do not have advising holds that prevent them from registering without consulting an advisor. This practice helps alleviate the challenges students abroad sometimes face with internet access. However, these students may still have advising/registration questions, so your quick response to their emails and questions is appreciated.

Advisors should feel free to proactively check in with these students to see how their semester is going and check to see if they anticipate changes to the plans made before they left.

Different study abroad registration policies apply for these students to take into account the significant time zone differences between Bethel and the locations throughout the world where these students are studying.  Students who would normally fill out a graduation application during their semester abroad, will be given an extra semester to complete this process.
