Student Employee of the Year

Ruth Livingston

Math and Computer Science Lab Manager, Mathematics and Computer Science Department

Ruth Livingston has worked in several different student employment jobs on campus during her time at Bethel. She was nominated for this award due to her Math and Computer Science Lab Manager roles by her supervisors: Director of the Math Lab, Professor Foster Graif and Director of Computer Science Lab, Professor Jed Yang.

“Ruth was nominated because of her leadership to both tutoring centers, in that she consistently goes above and beyond her assigned duties and that she plays a major role in creating a positive environment for both students and tutors.”

“Beyond her obvious gifts in the area of mathematics, she also has gifts related to leadership, problem solving, creativity, and humor. She uses these gifts in service to others, always exhibiting a selfless mentality.”

Ruth has invested deeply in the Math and Computer Science Labs through training other student employees and even some faculty, leading by example, and by creating a positive work environment. Ruth’s work is a blessing to Bethel as a whole, as well to the team that she works with. We are so thankful for her leadership and hard work.

Congratulations, Ruth!
