Opera Workshop is designed to give students the opportunity to integrate the techniques learned in the voice studio with the dramatic requirements of the stage. Students work with stage movement, develop dramatic interpretation skills, and practice these skills with professionals in the community. Each semester ends with a staged performance of scenes from opera, operetta, and music theatre.
Every other January, the music and theatre arts departments collaborate to produce a musical. The show is auditioned and cast in the previous fall. Students cast in the show register for a course and instrumentalists may participate in the pit orchestra for credit.
