Alan oversees the catering department of Sodexo at Bethel. Whether it is a simple lunch or a grand banquet serving hundreds, Alan guides his team behind the scenes in providing the best service to the Bethel community. Alan also spends a great deal of time working one on one with clients to plan their events, providing them with unique and exciting menu options. He enjoys creating exceptional experiences for Bethel students, faculty and staff.
Alan loves to sing and actually recorded an album (yes, black vinyl). He has been married for 32 years to Polly Nygard, a Bethel alumna. Together they enjoy traveling to warm places, especially if there is a Disney Resort nearby (their happy place). They enjoy going out to breakfast on weekends and are the proud dog parents of a little 5 pound Yorkshire Terrier and former "best in show" dog named Elsa.
